Roses For Margaret - Digital Art and Photoshop

Roses For Margaret is a digital art piece based on the characters from my novel-in-progress of the same name, dealing with growing up in an all-girls school, same-sex attraction/first love and illness. These are the main characters, Evangeline and Margaret, drawn in Paint Tool SAI and edited with Topaz Labs on Photoshop to get a traditional, charcoal effect in black and white. The coloured version, unedited, is below.

I have drawn them, referencing ball-jointed dolls for the facial features and eyes, to make them appear innocent and young.

Inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland books, which I have always loved.

Where Are the Vampires? - Digital Art

The background of this photo was a photo that I took myself at a Tudor home, Speke Hall. The house is Tudor on the outside and Victorian on the inside. In my mind, the characters are vampire siblings (the girl is the eldest) that are being hunted down by humans to be killed. Those eyes in the background are the humans searching for them, vampire killing kit ready. The eyes were done by getting eyes of people from photos I've taken (family and friends, plus myself somewhere in there) and also some photos of my dolls' eyes.
This is a concept piece of art for a book I'm going to write in the future, which I have plotted out.

She is Sleeping - Digital Art

This is a beautiful Koitsukihime doll that I wanted to draw in a semi-realistic style using Paint Tool SAI and a graphics tablet.
