What's Left Behind II - Print and Biro

What's Left Behind college project.
Drypoint print made using specialist machinery, referenced from my own photography and then photocopied and drawn into with green biro, for the overgrown look.

A cleaner print with less pick-up of the caligo ink; I like the first print with more of the ink, as it gives it a grainy, rough feel and adds texture and atmosphere, whereas the cleaner print appears plainer, but more refined.

This print has had some of the ink rubbed away with a cloth before being rolled in the machinery, so the effect is very rough and experimental, as well as less refined.

Other Half - Biro and Markers

Another piece for my brief "Fantastic and Strange", featuring twin girls in biro and marker pens. It inspired the final piece, using my poor dolls, Johan and Celeste, and was inspired by a photo shoot in the Gothic and Lolita Bibles, a Japanese fashion magazine.

Sororicide - Biro and Markers

Featured are Johan and poor Celeste, my two dolls that I played around with in order to get a setting I liked. They are dolls Isul Johan and Pullip Nella, the set that Mitsukazu Mihara illustrated and designed. Instead of drawing them as people, I rather liked the idea of drawing the dolls themselves, massive eyes, intricate clothing, strange proportions and all.
The story is that Johan, the brother, was a lonely doll that relied on his parents for everything, yet was jealous of the attention and lavish gifts that they bestowed upon his older sister, Celeste. One day he snapped and poisoned her.

Here are some more detailed images that I photographed, and the images that I drew from.
